Cleaning of silicone binder rollers in the production process of glass fibre wallpapers

We supported our customer in the cleaning of silicone binder rollers in the production process for glass fibre wallpaper. By using our industrial cleaners, the effort required for the cleaning process was significantly reduced.

The process for solving a cleaning problem at ECO-NOVA always follows three defined steps. This sequence has proven itself in practice and guarantees optimum service and the fastest way to solve our customers' cleaning challenges.

Step 1

Analysis & stocktaking

In the manufacturing process of glass fibre wallpapers, SB, PVA, PVAC and PVC plastics dry in liquid form on the binder rollers and are currently cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner and a brush. As the residues are very stubborn, only extensive mechanical cleaning is currently an option. In addition, the silicone binder rollers are sensitive to solvents. The wear period of the rollers should not be shortened by the use of cleaners. In the best case, the cleaning process should be possible without a brush or high-pressure cleaner, but can be accelerated at any time with mechanical support, as the processes are known and equipment is available. The waste water from the cleaner and soiling is treated internally and then channelled into the sewage system. The compatibility of the cleaner with the internal sewage treatment plant must also be ensured.

Step 2

Consultancy & demonstration

The customer showed our technical consultant the current cleaning process at the start of the demonstration. Various cleaners were then integrated into the current cleaning process. In addition to the use of various Eco-Nova cleaners, the exposure time and mechanical support were individually adjusted. This approach was used to determine the optimum cleaning process from the combination of cleaner, time and mechanical support. In the course of the tests, the Microsolv NX & Gluemex cleaners proved to be particularly efficient. Further independent tests by the customer were used to determine the optimum cleaner.

Step 3

Solution

The customer decided in favour of Microsolv NX after a detailed demonstration and consultation. Microsolv NX speeds up the effective working time with brushes and high-pressure cleaners during cleaning by almost half the time. In addition, during the exposure time of Microsolv NX before cleaning, the employees can already take on other activities and maintain the machines, carry out documentation or perform minor repairs.

To the cleaner:

Eco-Nova has solved a problem for us that we have not been able to solve for a long time. Our employees' previous way of working was very time-consuming and labour-intensive. In addition, the physical effort was not insignificant. By using the Microsolv NX cleaner, we can now clean the binder rollers much more efficiently in terms of time and effort.
