Dyes & pigments

Inks, printing inks, varnishes and pigments leave stubborn residues on rollers, squeegees, printing plates and surfaces. Eco-Nova offers cleaners for water- and solvent-based inks, emulsion varnishes and graffiti – many of which are not classified as hazardous according to their safety data sheets.

That’s what it’s all about

Problem and Solution

The challenge

Dried-on inks and pigments become lodged in pores and cells, reducing print and coating quality. Whilst traditional solvents such as ethyl acetate or butanone do dissolve them, they are highly flammable and pollute the indoor air with VOCs.

Our solution

We select the cleaner to suit the ink system, substrate and printing process – for example, Dyeclean 200 for dyes and pigments, or Plexinova with 0 % VOC, neither of which is classified as hazardous according to the safety data sheet. For dried-on ink on anilox rollers, there are special alkaline cleaners such as Novaflex, which are labelled as corrosive.

Typical areas of application

  • Printing and anilox rollers
  • Squeegees, ink pans and printing plates
  • Painting systems and spray booths
  • Graffiti on walls and façades
  • Machinery and tools

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which cleaner removes printing ink?
That depends on the ink system – water-based, solvent-based or UV-cured. We recommend the appropriate cleaner and provide a free sample.

Professional removal of paints, pigments and varnishes

Whether printing, painting or coating - colours and pigments are indispensable in many industries, but pose a major challenge when it comes to cleaning.

Risks associated with conventional cleaning

Conventional products often contain solvents such as ethyl acetate, isopropyl acetate or butanone. These are highly flammable and require ventilation, explosion protection and personal protective equipment. Furthermore, they can place a heavy strain on materials and machinery.

Solution with Eco-Nova industrial cleaners

Our specially developed cleaners reliably remove emulsion paints, pigments, graffiti and solvent-based paints. Many of these are not classified as hazardous according to their safety data sheets, for example Dyeclean 200, Topclean or Plexinova (0 % VOC according to the safety data sheet) – an alternative to traditional solvents.

Areas of application & advice

Whether gravure printing, flexographic printing, offset printing or roller cleaning - Eco-Nova offers the right solution for almost every application. Discover our range or request a personal consultation and free samples.
