Antistick ECO · a product range from Eco-Nova
Rapeseed oil-based release agents for pavers, rollers and troughs
Antistick ECO, made from plant-based raw materials, prevents bitumen and asphalt from sticking to machinery and tools. Manufactured in Schüttorf, supplied in drums or IBCs.
- Not classified as hazardous according to the safety data sheet
- Not classified as dangerous goods under ADR
- Flash point above 150 °C
- 200-litre drum and 1,000-litre IBC
From 1 January 2027 The occupational exposure limit for vapours and aerosols from bitumen (1.5 mg/m³) also applies to the laying of rolled asphalt. In its sector-specific guidelines, BG BAU advises against the use of release agents containing mineral oil.
The series
Which ECO anti-stick coating is suitable?
All three are based on plant-derived raw materials (rapeseed oil methyl ester) and, according to the safety data sheet, are not classified as hazardous. Three questions will help you choose.
1
An automatic sprinkler system with fine nozzles?
Then Antistick ECO 150 LV.
2
Long transport routes, PmB, multiple loadings or long downtimes?
Then Antistick ECO 170.
3
Anything else?
Antistick ECO 150 is the standard choice for most applications.

Antistick ECO 150
The standard for most applications in asphalt construction
- Flash point above 150 °C
- Viscosity: low (low viscosity)
- Manual and automatic

Antistick ECO 150 LV
For automatic spray systems with fine nozzles
- Flash point above 150 °C
- Viscosity: medium
- Fine nozzles, tight filters

Antistick ECO 170
Thicker – for long-lasting adhesion and high temperatures
- Flash point above 170 °C
- Viscosity: high (thick)
- Long transport routes, PmB

Laboratory test
Emissions at 140 to 170 °C – we’ll have them measured
Release agents also emit vapours and aerosols at high temperatures. We are therefore having a laboratory measure how much Antistick ECO releases compared with a hydrocarbon-based release agent. As soon as the results are available, we will publish them here – along with the laboratory, method and measurement conditions.
Transition
Four steps to Antistick ECO
1
Use up the remaining stock
Do not mix hydrocarbon-based release agents with Antistick ECO.
3
Insert the test sample
Test 10 or 20 litres on your own premises – on your machine, using your own mix.
4
Planning the season
Delivery in drums or IBCs, tailored to your requirements.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about release agents
Can Antistick ECO replace a hydrocarbon-based release agent?
In most asphalt construction applications, yes. Use up the remaining stock, flush the plant and test Antistick ECO beforehand using a test quantity of 10 or 20 litres.
Can I mix Antistick ECO with other release agents?
No. Do not mix Antistick ECO with hydrocarbon-based release agents. Flush the tank, pipes and nozzles before switching over.
What happens when there’s a frost?
Store Antistick ECO in a frost-free place at a temperature between 5 and 30 °C. It may thicken if exposed to frost; once warmed up, it is ready for use again.
What changes will there be to the laying of rolled asphalt from 2027?
From 1 January 2027, the occupational exposure limit of 1.5 mg/m³ for vapours and aerosols from bitumen will also apply to rolled asphalt. In its sector-specific guidelines, BG BAU lists the avoidance of mineral oil-based release agents as one of the protective measures.
What sizes are available, and how quickly are they delivered?
Antistick ECO is available in 10, 20 and 60-litre containers, in 200-litre drums and in 1,000-litre IBCs. We will provide you with the delivery date and price in our quotation.
