Introduction of the industrial cleaning concentrate Microsolv as a replacement for hazardous cleaning chemicals in masterbatch mixing vessel cleaning.

At ECO-NOVA, the process for solving a cleaning problem is always carried out in three defined steps. This sequence has proven itself in practice and ensures optimum service and the fastest way to solve our customers' cleaning challenges.

Analysis

The customer contacted us because the use of the current solvent was no longer up to date due to the hazardous substances it contained (declaration with flame, torso and exclamation mark pictogram) and the employees should be better protected in future.
The flammable solvent was applied pure and used to clean the mixing vessels. In the mixing vessels, plastic compounds are mixed with pigments and other additives to produce special properties for the masterbatch granulate.

Consultation & Demonstration

After an initial assessment of the cleaning processes over the phone, our technical consultant had several samples (10 liter canisters) sent to the customer free of charge for a large-scale cleaning test on site. During the joint demonstration of our cleaners, Microsolv in particular proved to be an effective solvent for removing pigment and additive residues from the boiler surfaces.
The cleaning effect even exceeded that of the solvent containing hazardous substances. In addition to the hazardous substance-free formulation, Microsolv offers the advantage of being dilutable with water and can therefore be used particularly economically. Certain pigments, such as Ultramarine Blue, require a higher cleaning effect. A diluted Microsolv mixture can also be used for pigments and additives that are easier to dissolve.

Solution

The customer was already aware of the advantages of Microsolv during the demonstration. In addition to an excellent cleaning effect on the most stubborn pigments, the application in a diluted mixture is a further advantage, as this saves costs and reduces emissions. In addition, the main requirement of replacing hazardous substances was met in full, as Microsolv does not contain any hazardous substances. The safety and health of employees will be significantly improved by Eco-Nova in the future.
