pH-neutral cleaners

pH-neutral cleaners have a pH value of around 7 and are suitable for delicate materials such as plastic, glass, painted surfaces and seals. They remove light to moderate soiling without damaging the surface – ideal for regular cleaning.

Problem and Solution

The challenge

Acidic and alkaline cleaning agents can damage sensitive surfaces: paintwork becomes dull, plastics become brittle and seals swell. Particularly when cleaning is carried out frequently, such damage accumulates and shortens the service life of components and equipment.

Our solution

For delicate surfaces, we use pH-neutral cleaners, such as Novazyme NF or Novatrax – neither of which is classified as hazardous according to their safety data sheets. If the soiling is too heavy for a neutral cleaner, we will recommend a suitable alternative.

Typical areas of application

  • Painted and coated surfaces
  • Plastic and glass surfaces
  • Machine housing and control elements
  • Workbenches and work surfaces
  • Regular maintenance cleaning

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does ‘pH-neutral’ mean?
A pH of around 7 – neither acidic nor alkaline. Neutral cleaners therefore do not damage most materials. You can find the exact pH value in the safety data sheet.
Is a neutral cleaner sufficient for oil and grease?
For light soiling, the answer is often yes. For heavy or burnt-on oil and grease residues, alkaline cleaners are usually more effective. We’ll advise you on which option is best.
Are pH-neutral cleaning products automatically safe?
No. The classification depends on all the ingredients, not just the pH value. Novax, for example, is labelled as flammable. The safety data sheet is the authoritative source.
Can I try out the cleaning products beforehand?
Yes. We provide free samples and, on request, demonstrate how to use them on site.
