Alkaline cleaners

Alkaline cleaners dissolve oil, grease, protein and other organic contaminants by saponifying fats and emulsifying dirt. Eco-Nova offers specialised, highly alkaline cleaners for baked-on residues and milder cleaners based on biosurfactants. We’ll work with you to determine which strength you need.

Problem and Solution

The challenge

Strongly alkaline cleaners are highly effective, but are often classified as corrosive and can damage sensitive materials such as aluminium, zinc or painted surfaces. Anyone who uses too much of the cleaner or chooses the wrong one risks causing damage to materials, requiring more extensive protective measures and incurring unnecessary costs.

Our solution

We select the appropriate strength depending on the type of soiling and the material: strongly alkaline cleaners such as Ultranova or Supernova for burnt-on and resinous residues (labelled as corrosive; use with protective equipment) and milder cleaners such as Evoclean IN or Microsolv NX for regular use – not classified as hazardous according to the safety data sheet.

Typical areas of application

  • Machinery and plant
  • Workshop and industrial floorings
  • Parts cleaning in immersion and spray systems
  • Anilox rollers and printing presses
  • High-pressure and washing systems

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are alkaline cleaners suitable for?
For organic dirt such as oils, greases, protein, soot or paint residues. Acidic cleaners, on the other hand, are effective against mineral deposits such as limescale, rust or cement.
Do alkaline cleaners damage aluminium?
Strongly alkaline cleaners can corrode light metals such as aluminium and zinc. For sensitive materials, we recommend using milder cleaners and carrying out a test on an inconspicuous area first.
Are there any alkaline cleaning products without hazard labelling?
Yes. According to their safety data sheets, Evoclean IN, Microsolv, Microsolv NX and Microsolv Plus are not classified as hazardous. Strongly alkaline specialist cleaners such as Ultranova are labelled as corrosive.
Can I try out the cleaning products beforehand?
Yes. We provide free samples and, on request, demonstrate how to use them on site.

Alkaline cleaners for grease and organic residues

Alkaline cleaners are ideal for removing oil, grease and organic soiling. They have a powerful effect and are therefore widely used in industry, food production and workshops.

Typical properties & areas of application

Thanks to their high pH value, they reliably dissolve grease, protein and dirt. They are particularly useful in heavily soiled environments with high hygiene requirements.

Advantages of Eco-Nova cleaners

Our range includes highly alkaline specialist cleaners for burnt-on residues, as well as milder cleaners, such as Evoclean IN, which is based on bio-surfactants, or the Microsolv range – neither of which is classified as hazardous according to the safety data sheet.
