Roller cleaning

Residues of ink, varnish, adhesives and silicone on rollers reduce print and coating quality. Eco-Nova offers roller cleaners for rubber, PU, silicone, steel and anilox rollers – many of which are not classified as hazardous according to their safety data sheets. We test compatibility and effectiveness in advance using a free sample.

That’s what it’s all about

Problem and Solution

The challenge

Rollers in printing, coating and laminating machines accumulate residues of ink, varnish, adhesive and silicone. If these are not completely removed, the print image or coating will be compromised. Commonly used solvents such as acetone or isopropanol are highly flammable, and some solvents attack roller covers made of rubber, PU or silicone, thereby shortening their service life.

Our solution

We tailor the cleaner to the specific type of contamination and roller material, and carry out tests directly on your equipment where necessary – examples can be found in our success stories on anilox roller cleaning, silicone residues on PU rollers and silicone binder rollers. According to their safety data sheets, several Eco-Nova roller cleaners are not classified as hazardous, such as Nova Safe S or Microsolv NX.

Typical areas of application

  • Printing rollers (offset, flexo, gravure)
  • Anilox rollers
  • PU and rubber rollers
  • Silicone binder rollers
  • Coating and laminating rollers

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which roller cleaner does not damage PU and rubber rollers?
Compatibility depends on the material used. We recommend cleaners that are suitable for your roller material and advise you to test compatibility beforehand on an inconspicuous area or using a sample.
Are there any roller cleaners without hazard labelling?
Yes. According to their safety data sheets, Nova Safe S, Microsolv NX, RF Cleaner and other cleaners in this category are not classified as hazardous. We can test whether they are suitable for your specific contamination using a free sample.
How do I clean anilox rollers thoroughly?
Anilox rollers require cleaning agents that remove ink residues from the cells. Our success story on anilox roller cleaning demonstrates how this is achieved with Novaflex. Novaflex is labelled as corrosive and must be used with appropriate protective equipment.
Can I try out the cleaning products beforehand?
Yes. We provide free samples and, if required, can carry out a demonstration on site at your facility.
